2017 opening to be confirmed. You can still call 01343 810664 for an appointment.
Covesea Lighthouse is situated on the outskirts of Lossiemouth on the Moray Firth Coast (voted one of the most breathtaking coasts in the world in a National Geographic Traveller magazine survey). The lighthouse is now owned by the Lossiemouth local community and was recently opened to the general public as a visitor attraction. You can enjoy a tour, taken by one of our volunteers, and climb to the top of the tower. The lighthouse is open for tours every Saturday between the 2nd week in March and the 2nd week but only at 10am and then again at 11am. Bookings also take priority, so it is better to book in advance. To make an appointment please call 01343 810664, leave a message confirming your name and phone number. A volunteer will return your call between 1700 and 1900. Alternatively email email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
The views along both sides of the Moray Firth are wondrous and, when nature allows, there is much to be seen in the way of wild animals, birds and plants. The neighbouring RAF base is best viewed from the top of the lighthouse. Military aircraft flights, during the week, are unique in Scotland for the enthusiast or the casual visitor alike.
If you want to stay somewhere a little different we have 2 cottages which are available to rent all year round. A degree of solitude, especially out of the normal holiday season, is assured. To book please go to the National Trust for Scotland (click this link).
Take a “tour” through our website and you will find details and information about our facilities, learn about our Egyptian connection and the links to the Stevenson lighthouse dynasty.
To view our facilities on our website is great but to truly experience the Covesea Lighthouse an actual visit is recommended. Make sure to book a "Tower Tour" then enjoy an hour of history and visual detail which hopefully will prove both educational and memorable. Groups of up to 8 people can be accommodated at any one time. Multiple group visits need to be discussed to ensure satisfaction.
Please contact us to arrange a visit or ask questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you in the near future.
